Head physician, Associate professor P-O Haraldsson
P-O Haraldsson graduated as a physician in Lund. He is a specialist in Otorhinolaringology Head and Neck Surgery and has worked for 25 years at the Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm. He has specialized in the nose, upper respiratory areas, sleep apnea and facial trauma. He is a trained rhinoplastic surgeon, graduated from his PhD in 1991 and became an associate professor at the Karolinska Institute in 1996. He has since the 1980’s been trained by other Facial Plastic Surgeons and professors in Germany, England and the USA. He has performed over 5000 functional and cosmetical rhinoplasties and has benn a faculty member on several courses in Europe and Asia. In addition to rhinoplasty, he offers additional facial plastic surgery procedures in related areas such as the chin, eyes, lips and cheeks to provide proper facial transformations. He has received the Inject Academy Award for filler treatment, which today replaces several plastic surgery procedures.
Haraldsson has written numerous scientific essays about nose and facial surgery, he wrote the textbook chapter on Facial trauma and a manual on Functional nose septum surgery. During his time at Karolinska he was the initiator of the three multi disciplinary symposiums covering “Facial Trauma, Sleepy drivers, Pilots and Facial Plastic Surgery”.
He has also worked as a volunteer general surgeon in Africa and has developed surgical instruments together with the Stille and Storz companies. He has a Swedish, Norweigian and Spanish medical ID.
Haraldsson is featured in “Stockholm Näsvise”, is a delegate in the American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery, is president of the newly formed Swedish subdivision – EAFPS Sweden and is a member of the Swedish Medical Association as well as of the Royal Society of Medicine in London. On top of that he has also initiated three international multidisciplinairy symposiums on Facial trauma, Sleepy drivers and Pilots as well as reconstructive and aesthetic surgery of the nose and face.
Associate Professor Ingemar Blomgren
Ingemar has been involved on the aesthetic plastic surgery scene since 30 years and performs all types of aesthetic changes to the face and nose, as well as liposuction and various forms of breast surgery. Associate Professor Blomgren has for many years been the main director of the Kirurgcentrum but sold his clinic and moved his operations to the Astoria Clinic.
He graduated as a physician at the Karolinska Institute and became a specialist in plastic surgery. He recieved a doctorate in plastic surgery at Sahlgrenska Hospital in Gothenburg and became an associate professor. He is licensed to operate in Sweden, as well as England and the United States.
Blomgren has an unusually broad training in aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. He performed, in the 1980s, the first microsurgical operation in Sweden along with Dr. Godina from Yugoslavia. He then worked at the University Hospital Foch in Paris with microsurgery and met the leading aesthetic plastic surgeon Prof. Tessier in 1987.
Dr. Blomgren worked at the Karolinska Hospital and there he managed the trauma operations at the Plastic Surgery Clinic. At Karolinska he co-organised the international multidisciplinary symposium of Facial Trauma in Stockholm with Dr. Haraldsson. Dr. Blomgren participated in the treatment of patients with cleft lip and cleft palate. After Karolinska he continued his journey with further training from leading plastic surgeons Prof. Ivo Pitanguy in Brazil and Prof. Monasterio in Mexico. He also studied nose surgery in Chicago and operated at John Hopkins University in Baltimore to learn modern liposuction techniques. He has also visited the world’s largest plastic surgery hospital: BaDuChu in Bejing.
Ingemar Blomgren has worked as a consultant in the UAE and has operated on a voluntary basis under AMREF’s auspices in Kenya and Uganda during multiple times. Through the years, Ingemar Blomgren has been a frequent guest speaker around the world at various international meetings and congresses. Ingemar Blomgren is a member of the Swedish Plastic Surgery Association and the Swedish Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. In the latter, he has been Chairman of its Ethics Council. Babak Alinasab has worked at Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic, Karolinska University Hospital since 2005, where he currently is the deputy chief physician and clinic manager in näsplastik- & facial trauma surgery. He works extra at Astoria clinic.
He has trained in Facial Plastic Surgery in the United States at Tom Wang who is the world authority in the field and past president of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Babak Alinasab works mainly with special focus on the nose, facial trauma, sinus, skallbas- and cancer surgery. He obtained a doctorate in facial trauma.
He is a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery, European Rhino Logic Society, the Medical Association, Swedish rhino logical companion and Stockholm saucy. He has taught and lectured at several national and international courses and meetings in nasal and facial plastic surgery and facial trauma.
